Hello everyone, it’s time to put what we learned into practice. This first practical activity is to help us to gain some experience in conversational evangelization using the One Good reason method.
The activity has 4 steps. First, ask the Holy Spirit to bring to your mind someone to share your faith with. This is someone who’s already a part of your life. It could be a family member, a friend, a coworker, or somebody you go to church with. Once you have that person in mind, start praying for them.
Second, look for an opportunity to talk with them so you can share your “one good reason” for why you’re Catholic, why you believe in God, or why you believe that Jesus is Lord. Think about what you’re going to say ahead of time and ask the Holy Spirit to help you to come up with your reason. Let your reason be meaningful, truthful, and compelling. Oftentimes, it’s a good idea to mix some of your personal testimony into the reason.
Third, during the conversation, don’t forget to “listen and befriend” before you move on to sharing your reason. You’re going to want to have the conversation be natural and have a nice flow to it.
And fourth, when you are ready, post in the School Forums on our website to tell us how it went. There is a specific topic created for this activity. Also, give a constructive question or comment about the lesson or somebody else’s post on their experience doing the activity. All of this is required for your certificate of completion. God Bless!
